News broke Friday about plans to close the Southeast Regional Library as a means to trim the county budget. Outraged Garner residents immediately made phone calls, sent email messages, held meetings, circulated a petition and created a Facebook fan page and group.
By Monday afternoon:
720 signed the petition (www.thepetitionsite.com/2/save-the-southeast-regional-library)
851 were fans of the Facebook Keep the Southeast Regional Library Open fan page
937 were members of the Facebook Save Garner’s Library group.
Garner’s elected officials, civic groups and business leaders are making plans for a public meeting. Watch for details.
